Aadip Desai (he/him) is an LA-based Indian American screenwriter, comedian, musician, and Air Force brat. His name rhymes with Adele’s “Rolling in The Deep.” He gravitates towards stories about edgy but hilarious families in crisis across all genres and formats. 

 

Aadip was honored as a BAFTA Breakthrough US for his work as a Staff Writer on ABC’s THE GOLDBERGS (writing episode 150), a show mostly about yelling. He’s also written on Disney Jr.’s MIRA, ROYAL DETECTIVE, Nickelodeon/Netflix’s SHARKDOG, and DreamWorks/Netflix’s DEW DROP DIARIES. Bobby Flay named him the most memorable cast member out of every season of Food Network’s Worst Cooks in America. 

 

Aadip dropped out of AFI’s MFA Screenwriting program to join the Walt Disney TV Writing Program. He’s also an advisor/lecturer/speaker at the Sundance Institute, AFI, LMU, NYU, UCLA, USC, BAFTA, Humanitas, and WGA. 

 

Aadip completed the Improv/Sketch programs at the Upright Citizens Brigade, and studied comedy at The Groundlings, and iO. He’s also performed standup at The Improv, The Comedy Store, and a vegan restaurant with one bathroom. 

 

Aadip had a hazy career in the music biz as a jazz trumpet player, indie rock drummer, music supervisor, and music executive for Starbucks. 

 

He has a BA in Econ and a minor in Music from the University of Puget SoundAadip is repped by Varun Monga at Paradigm Talent Agency.
